TESTIMONIALS

Tim Swanwick and Clare Morris have been excellent to work with in the development of our future education research strategy. Their approach to the project including engagement with our organisation and stakeholders, facilitation of workshops and interviews, and provision of expert advice has all been exemplary. The final report is very well written and is a constructive output that we will use to shape our strategy.

Tim and Clare’s expertise, insight and experience has been pivotal to the development of the Enhance programme’s educational framework, syllabus and subsequent materials such as the programme handbook. Their support and guidance provided to the regional trailblazers to align their offers with the enhance educational framework and syllabus was well received and key to establishing a strong bedrock to the programme. They have provided a wealth of support and guidance to other key elements to the programme such as faculty development and the shaping of the transformative reflection guidance. As a national programme we are incredibly grateful to them as they have been instrumental in the development phase of the enhance programme.

Thank you for creating the Work-Based Learning podcast...I really appreciated the style of these short episodes, which model good teaching at the same time as laying out theory and practice in a very accessible way.

Professor Clare Morris has undertaken a wide range of commissioned activity for us including faculty development and evaluation activity, most recently an evaluation of a pan-London Dental Nurse apprenticeship programme.  Clare brings a depth of knowledge and experience to her work. We have found her to be thoughtful, responsive and adaptable. In particular, the attention to detail paid in understanding context and background to commissioned activity has resulted in excellent engagement from various stakeholders.

Tim chaired the Evaluation Steering Group for the Pre-registration Pharmacist Recruitment Scheme for England and Wales. He led the creation of an evaluation strategy that would look at the short-term operational effectiveness of a national recruitment alongside the longer-term impact. This included an evaluation framework against which a number of projects were commissioned. Some of this work has now been published and the longitudinal study is ongoing.  I have no hesitation in recommending Tim for other research projects which evaluate educational interventions in practice.

Clare personifies so many key traits of a superb educator.  First and foremost, she works to build inclusive communities of learning . This enables medical and healthcare professionals to learn from their peers and extended professional networks as well as her own expertise.  Clare is a continuing educator to her very bones, and we at the Institute of Continuing Education are fortunate to benefit from her dynamism, professionalism and wisdom.
